Beautiful Rug from Mehraban Collections

Decided to update my living room on the cheap with a new rug from Mehraban.

I like rugs from Mehraban because they are unique one-of-a-kind design, hand-sewn by artisans in Afghanistan, and timeless.

The detail on this rug is just gorgeous!  One can certainly sense the history and craftsmanship that goes into it.  The light cream color opens up the sunny living room.

Savannah Collections Sofas

I've always indulged myself on the finer things around the home.  I've owned a number of furniture from Henredon, Stickley, Century and Marge Carson.

A friend recommended I check out the furniture from Savannah Collections.  Although Savannah Collections does not have a retail store in the area and I'm wary of ordering furniture online, I decided to order a living room set after seeing my neighbor's.

The sofa arrived last week and let me say this - the sofa and loveseat are beautiful!  I thought the quality was comparable to my 3 yr. old Marge Carson, only it cost 1/3 less.  I particularly like the gold-leaf touches and the soft velvety fabric.

The Ken Onion Shun Knives - Cuts Like Butter

Any real cook knows the 3 most important items in a kitchen are knives, pots, and stove.

A lot of people have told me about Ken Onion Shun knives and how well they cut.  I was happy with my set of J.A. Henckels that I have. 

After hearing so much about this set, I went out and got myself a 7-pc set.

I don't know all the fancy words the manufacturer used to describe the knives, like VG-10 high-carbon steel construction, but it is the sharpest knives I've seen.

Give it a try... you may even find the knives "too sharp..."!
